Sydney born tenor Reginald Byers has achieved an amazing success in opera houses all over the world.
Reginald began his studies with Professor Frederick Foxley at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
The national television "showcase" led to his debut in 1967 in the leading role of Cavaradossi in Tosca with The Australian Opera. He also sang that year leading roles in 'Don Carlson' and 'Dick Johnson' in 'The Girl of the Golden West'.
Since that time Reginald has sung many of the most famous tenor roles-Calaf in Turandot, The Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, the title role of Faust, Radames in Aida and many others.
During his career spanning over thirty years Reginald has sang with Kiri Te Kanawa, Dame Joan Sutherland, Leonie Rysanek, Sherrill Milnes, Peter Glossop, Tito Gobbi and many others.
Currently Reginald is coaching young singing artists in his hometown Sydney.
